Let us help you take care of your trees this season!
Pruning your trees during their dormant season is one of the best things you can do!
It’s right up there with proper watering and sunlight. We also have ISA Certified Arborists on staff to ensure that your trees are being taken care of and being cut correctly.
What is an ISA Certified Arborist?
It is someone who has gone through training and is knowledgeable in all aspects of arboriculture. ISA Certified Arborists must also adhere to the Code of Ethics, which strengthens the credibility and reliability of the workforce.
Can anyone take the certification exam?
No. Candidates are required to have a minimum of three years of full-time experience in arboriculture or a combination of education and practical arboricultural experience. One year of full-time experience is equal to approximately 1,795 hours of work.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is Tree Pruning?
Tree pruning is done to promote plant health, to maintain shape/size of the trees in landscapes, to improve plant appearance and to help protect people and property by removing branches while the tree is dormant.
How Often Should I Be Pruning My Trees?
It is recommended to have your trees pruned every 1-2 years. The earlier on the better. Removing small branches is fairly easy compared to waiting until limbs are large, when pruning can be costly and a bigger risk to the tree.
What Are The 4 D’s of Proper Tree Pruning?
Dead, Dying, Diseased, + Damaged branches. Standard pruning should be done in a tree’s dormant season but if you ever notice any of the 4 D’s on your tree(s) it is best to remove the branches as soon as you can instead of waiting until the tree is dormant.
When Should I Expect My Trees To Be Pruned By?
It depends on the trees’ dormant season. For most (leafy) trees, it’s during the winter months (Nov – Mar), but evergreen trees are typically in the summer (Jun – Aug). Spring-flowering trees are usually pruned after the blooming cycle, toward the middle of summer. But it all depends on its classification and what it’s considered to be.
Let us know which type of trees you have, and we will sign you up for the appropriate time frame.
